* International Association of Speakers Bureaus (IASB) 
Description: The International Association of Speakers Bureaus (IASB) is the trade association for speakers bureaus and was founded in 1986. Today, there are 151 member bureaus representing 14 countries, including the US.

With the technology that is available to meeting planners today, it is very easy for them to find a speaker. What is not so easy is knowing if the speaker will be great to work with and will the speaker meet the objectives of the meeting planner. Without spending any more money (The speaker pays a commission to the bureau for booking the engagement), the meeting planner may secure the speaker through an IASB member bureau and the meeting planner would be assured he/she is the right speaker (Those at the speakers bureau know the speaker). In other words, the speaker pays an IASB member speakers bureau to provide the meeting planner peace of mind.
