Speakers bureaus broker professional speakers with meeting planners. Member bureaus have pledged to operate their bureaus within the guidelines of the IASB Code of Ethics. Click here to view a copy of the Code of Ethics the IASB website. Just click on “Code of Ethics and Accepted Practices.”
With the technology that is available to meeting planners today, it is very easy for them to find a speaker. What is not so easy is knowing if the speaker will be great to work with and will the speaker meet the objectives of the meeting planner. Without spending any more money (The speaker pays a commission to the bureau for booking the engagement), the meeting planner may secure the speaker through an IASB member bureau and the meeting planner would be assured he/she is the right speaker (Those at the speakers bureau know the speaker). In other words, the speaker pays an IASB member speakers bureau to provide the meeting planner peace of mind.
