Hotels in Hawaii have seen reached a record high revenue for the first quarter at $859.5 million…despite other areas of the country fearful of a depression, according to the latest Hawaii Hotels Flash Report.
Hawaii was second behind Miami for the top 25 hotel markets for occupancy during the first quarter. Miami had an occupancy rate of 81.4 percent compared with Hawaii’s 78.5 percent.

We also have found that our Hawaii office is doing really great through this economy downturn. But maybe we are on the cusp of it falling. With rising gas prices everything is going to be more expensive to get over to Hawaii. We talked a little bit about this on our podcast. Great post thanks!

Summer will be a big travel test to see if Americans choose to vacation cloesr to home and save money on gas and plane flights. The rising gas prices seem to have no mercy, as even airlines are feeling the crunch to raise prices and pass their losses to travelers!
